Experience

Working with tegan

I have been shooting weddings now for over 14 years!

That sounds absolutely crazy since I'm only 32 but I started off shooting with other photographers when I was just 18.

Working alongside other photographers for years was the best way for me to learn and eventuallly develop my own unique style and approach. I was able to experiment with lighting styles for the dance floor, the best ways to capture couples naturally and relaxed, the perfect positioning for ceremonies, as well as taking years to perfect my editing. I have shot all across the UK, in different countries, for large scale jewish weddings, small intimate elopements and so much more. My practise is well polished and unique to me, I have ensured over the years, my couples get the best possible experience when booking me.

My Approach

how am i any different?

If I had to explain my style of wedding photography in a few words it would be fun and funky reportage. I shoot with a candid documentary approach, capturing moments as they happen telling the story of your day.

My work is full of life, full of colour and full of  love.

You will  find some photographers say they blend into the background. Whilst  I aim to do this in the ceremony, the rest of the day I am present, playing with the kids for photos, chatting to your parents and loved ones and generally making everyone feel at ease

As a Hampshire wedding photographer I work at loads of different and beautiful venues across the county and country. Different wedding venues have a certain feel and vibe to them and I try my hardest to include that in your wedding photographs and story. I want to tell your story unobtrusively. The day as it happened, the romantic, the funny, and even those moments when we remember and it makes us a little sad. There are moments where you won't see me, times when I will be capturing moments secretly, but other moments where I am in the thick of it, having a giggle photographing your guests. I've been told on so many occasions, 'it felt like having a friend shoot my wedding'. That I was the extra bridesmaid, the female groomsman, and so on...

Weddings are not just about the couple, and marriage is not just about the wedding day itself. Whilst I encourage couples to think only of themselves when planning and making choices for their wedding.. I truly believe that marriage is the joining of two families. It is the symbolic bond that ties people together forever, and my photographs need to document that.

Mothers shed their first tears together, fathers emotionally hug as they embrace a new family member, friends hold hands, and couples appreciate the special vows said before everyone. As a photographer, you know when you've captured something special, something raw and real.I often find myself smiling to myself behind the lens of my camera, truly appreciating someone else's happiness or little moment of fun. Knowing I've captured it brings me such a sense of joy.

I totally understand that weddings involve months of planning and preparation, from invites and seating plans to cake design and dress picking. I like to think a photographer should be involved along the way. I encourage pre-wedding shoots, pre-wedding consultations, Zoom calls, phone calls, emails, and continuous contact with my clients. The relationship you build with your photographer helps to create a beautifully natural set of photographs on the day.

Weddings are not predictable, although they are highly planned, they rarely stick to a schedule and it's helpful to have a photographer that is ready for anything with precision creativity and skill. I pride myself on being able to adapt. I am the photographer that can discreetly capture beautifully candid shots of your ceremony... but I am also the photographer who parties and dances with your guests once the alcohol is flowing. Guests feel comfortable around me, allowing me to capture them comfortably enjoying themselves. You deserve to sit back, enjoy your day with the confidence that your whole day gets documented!
